TRAIN

We come from London, and our favourite way of getting to Mappe is to take the TGV from Saint Pancras International, to Aix-en-Provence (pictured on left) or Marseille, where we hire a car. If you book the first part of the journey to Lille, you can stay on the same platform to change. Otherwise, you will need to make your way across Paris, from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon. â€‹

FLYING

If you want to come this way, there are airports at Nice and Marseille serviced by Easyjet and British Airways, and Nîmes for those who don't mind the longer drive. That is served by Ryanair.

DRIVING

If you want to use the autoroute, it's 1200 kilometres (750) miles from Calais, and we recommend stopping off for a night in Burgundy. If you prefer to travel on smaller roads, it is a longer but much more enjoyable journey. See our preferred route here.

ELECTRIC CARS

In 2019, we reached Mappe from London in a  five year old Nissan Leaf with an effective range of 85 miles (shown in the picture to the right). This was challenging! It is much easier now. We do not currently have a charging point at Mappe. There is a Type 2 charger available at the tourist office on the outskirts of Lorgues. There are two rapid CCS chargers and a Type 2 charger in the car park of the Intermarché supermarket.
